Do you own the chalet?
Yes. Helen bought the chalet in July 2004, and spent the next months until Boxing Day 2004 renovating the place.

Do you have staff running the chalet now?
No. Maison Jaune is still completely owner-run by Helen and Leighton.

Where do you sleep?
There are three separate mazots - these are like small chalets - in the garden of Maison Jaune.
We live in one of those in the winter and summer seasons. In the spring and autumn, we return to the chalet

Is the chalet REALLY ski in AND ski out?
Yes. You access the piste directly through the garden.
We are located 400 metres above the nearest ski lift on a blue run which is suitable for anyone who can do a confident snowplough.

Do you accept vegetarians?
Absolutely. We can cater for people with a whole host of dietary requirements: including vegetarians, hallal, nut allergies, etc. - but please do let us know before your holiday so we can plan your meals accordingly.

Do you accept animals?
Not generally as a rule. However, contact us to discuss your requirements. We can also recommend local kennels

Do you accept smokers?
Yes, but there is a strict no-smoking rule inside the chalet
You are, however, welcome to smoke outside where there are ashtrays provided.

We are a party of 11. Can you fit us in?
It would definitely be a bit crowded around the dinner table - however, if you can put up with that, we can make one of the double/twin rooms into a triple for you.

Do you have a day off?
We normally take one evening off every week - typically thursday or friday - and can arrange a taxi to take you to sample one of the many restaurants in either Chamonix or Les Houches.
However, we do still provide full-service continental breakfast and afternoon tea on that day.

Do you have directions to the chalet?
Absolutely. You can download a pdf file with directions here
