About your chalet hosts
Unlike most ski chalets who employ chalet staff on a seasonal basis, Maison Jaune is both owner-run and owner-operated by Helen Anderson and Leighton Ellis. So we are completely responsible for ensuring you have an excellent holiday!
Helen and Leighton are friends who met in Chamonix in 2001, and were married this year on Saturday 11th July 2009.
About Helen
Helen loves running, and randonnéee skiing (uphill !!!) as well as traditional downhill skiing. She learnt to ski in her forties, and no longer believes crying is an integral part of the sport.
Before starting Maison Jaune, Helen ran a successful graphic design company. She did her first ski season in Chamonix in 1998, and opened the doors of Maison Jaune to the first guests on Boxing Day 2004.
About Leighton
Leighton loves to cook, loves food and drink, and is a real gastronophile.
Originally a freelance IT developer working contracts in Iceland, France, UK and Switzerland, he is responsible for this website, and still works part-time creating websites and other techie stuff.
He has been living in Chamonix valley since 2000, drawn by his passion for paragliding and skiing.
With just a couple of exceptions, all the photos on this website were taken by us using either a Canon Powershot S60, or a Canon EOS 40D with a polarising filter.
