Fancy Skiing Christmas in Chamonix?
Relax and celebrate this year, staying catered in our Chamonix ski chalet directly on the ski piste!

Christmas is a very special time of year for most people.

Nothing quite beats the joy of waking up excited on Christmas morning, having a scrumptious filling breakfast, and then being able to head out skiing - straight from the door...

Even on Christmas Day, the ski pistes are all open and are usually very quiet as the French tend to celebrate on Christmas Eve.  There is such a special joyful feeling being able to ski on Christmas Day!

Later on, you'll enjoy a fully prepared seven-course Christmas dinner which includes traditional Roast Turkey and all the trimmings: Christmas crackers, Christmas pudding, homemade mince pies... In short, all the elements that make Christmas festive!

We make chalet Maison Jaune a special place to spend Christmas week:
- We have a 6-foot tall real pine Christmas tree, all sparkling with fairy lights, baubles and other decorations...
- The mantlepiece over the open log fire has decorations and candles on it...
- The shutters on the house have lush green and red decorations...
- and, of course, a highlight of Christmas is the sumptuous seven-course Turkey dinner...

Enjoy Champagne and canapes before dinner

Gourmet Christmas Dinner

Tradionally for Christmas, we start with Champagne and canapés about 4 o'clock.

Below is a typical menu we cook for Christmas...

Pan-seared Fois Gras on Brioche toasts served with a confit of figs,
miniature amaretto jellies, and a selection of homemade chutneys

Parmasan doughnuts rolled in Porcini dust served with Chestnut cream

Home-smoked trout with horseradish cream

Rosé and Raspberry sorbet "mis en bouche"

Roast turkey crackling and all the trimmings:
Golden Roasted Potatoes, Parmasan Roasted Parsnips, Carrots caramelised with Ginger,
Creamed Brussel Sprouts with Chestnuts, old English stuffing, pigs in blankets, served with rich gravy, cranberry and bread sauces

Composed cheese course of Beaufort with spiced carrot and golden raisin purée

White Chocolate mousse with Cardamon and Bay leaves

Coffee with homemade Cognac-laced chocolate truffles

Each course is served with its own selection of fine wine, specifically chosen to suit each course.

Note: if you have any vegetarians in your group, don't worry...
We are also able to offer a 7-course vegetarian-option in addition to our normal Christmas meal.
