Hiking in the Alps
In Chamonix valley, there are a whole multitude of hiking trails for everyone.
- low level walks that follow the valley floor
- mid-level walks as well as high-mountain walks

Amongst the most popular walks in the valley are

  • La Flégère to Lac Blanc
  • Grand Balcon du Nord
  • Grand Balcon du Sud
  • Les Bossons to Pyramides
  • Col du Voza to Nid d'Aigle
  • Dome du Miage

Rock Climbing
There are crags, bouldering and multi-pitches locally...
Most of the local crags tend to be equipped, and lots of routes are top-ropeable.

The nearest crags are just 2 minutes away at the bottom of the hill by the lake.

Within a short drive you can reach the following crags:

  • Gaillands
  • Servoz
  • La Joux
  • Barberine
  • Vallorcine

Rock Climbing Instruction

If you have never climbed before, then we recommend you hire James for an afternoon.
He will ensure you have a great time, and are taught the basics to keep you safe and having fun.

Indoor Climbing Wall
Les Houches also has a fantastic indoor climbing wall with more than 100 routes for all levels.

It is open daily, cheap with unlimited time on the wall.
It is even possible to hire equipment, and have a private lesson.
