...The Other Four Chamonix Ski Stations

Brévent and La Flégère

These are situated with skiing between 1,030m and 2,525m, and are the only two ski stations in Chamonix currently linked together.

Brévent has :
  • 3 black pistes
  • 3 red pistes
  • 5 blue pistes
  • 3 green pistes
  • lots of off-piste!
In Brévent, the daring can try their hand at backflips in safety onto a big Air bag - a large inflatable mattress - and then download the video of their jump later!

Flégère has :
  • 3 black pistes
  • 5 red pistes
  • 3 blue pistes
  • 2 green pistes
  • acres of off-piste!
Whilst over in Flégère, you can try the speed run, down a specially prepared slope 500m long with 150m of height loss.

Grands Montets

Made infamous by the ski movie, the Blizzard of Aahs, this ski station is perfect for intermediate to advanced skiers.
The slopes extend from 1,235m to 3,300m, and remain open until May due to its North-facing aspect.

The off-piste here is amazing - however, on a fresh powder day, it gets tracked out almost immediately!

Grands Montets has :
  • 6 black pistes
  • 4 red pistes
  • 5 blue pistes
  • 1 snowpark
  • acres of off-piste!
Free-style enthusiasts can also enjoy the snowpark and bordercross tracks in the Lognan area.

The top lift gives you access to the Glacier d'Argentière for which we recommend you take a guide.

Domaine du Balme

The Domain du Balme - also known as La Tour - has a very similar level to the pistes of Les Houches - though La Tour is heigher extending from 1,453m to 2,270m, and is more prone to wind being at the top end of the valley.

Here, you can have a go on the Slalom course, and then view your video online later!

Be careful going off-piste on the backside of the Tête du Balme as this is the most avalanche-prone area in the entire valley.

The Domaine du Balme has :

  • 8 red pistes
  • 11 blue pistes
